Sealing and securing
The purpose of thread sealing is to achieve a pretension. This creates a defined surface pressure between two components with the addition of a tightening torque. Dynamic stress in any direction will cause movement that can lead to a loss of the pretension, this can lead to the failure of the threaded connections in the long term. For this reason, bolts must be secured. Often mechanical locking aids such as toothed lock washers, spring washers, etc. are used, although the liquid, chemically cross-linking Kisling threadlockers offer many advantages:
- structural integrity
- thread security
- corrosion protection
- undamaged component surfaces
- constant coefficients of friction ensure constant pretension values
- universal, i.e. no stock-keeping for different gaskets
